Testimonials
We have been very privileged to work at so many sporting venues. Here is what some of our clients say about us;
The CWGC have worked with AMA (formerly RHA) for nearly twenty years and have used them for expert advice and consultancy on all aspects of irrigation including system audit and design, water management and capability building at all levels for our estate of cemeteries and memorials worldwide. The work AMA have done with the CWGC on water conservation, the efficient use of water, and more recently a further training course for our area staff held in Cassino, Italy, are paramount in ensuring the CWGC Cemeteries are maintained to an excellent standard. AMA have audited all of our cemeteries with irrigation within our Mediterranean Area enabling the CWGC to understand the condition of the current systems and to help the planning for future water use and also for analysing and planning investment strategy.
The delivery of an excellent standard of horticulture is one of the CWGC’s core activities with a global workforce of over 850, the efficient and sustainable use of water is a key objective and we look forward to continuing our work with AMA.
Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) – David Richardson, Director of Horticulture
St Andrews Links Trust has worked with Adrian Mortram for close on twenty years.
The continual service, advice and expertise provided by AMA (formerly RHA) in relation to what is probably the largest single irrigation system in Europe has been a key element in allowing us to present the courses in the best possible condition at the Home of Golf.
St Andrews Links Trust – Gordon Moir, Director of Greenkeeping
When the Royal Portrush Golf Club were looking to implement the replacement of their entire irrigation system over the Dunluce and Valley Courses they contacted Adrian Mortram through their agronomist Ian McClements of the STRI. From the initial site evaluation meeting, through the irrigation design process, meetings with the committee, presenting the proposals to the membership and implementation of the designed scheme Adrian Mortram provided a thoroughly professional service. In testimony to this, more recently for the forthcoming Open Championship in 2019, AMA have again been involved in providing design services for re-modelling of the irrigation systems to meet the revised golf course layout and development of the new holes
Royal Portrush Golf Club – Wilma Erskine, Secretary Manager
Education is an extremely important element to anyone’s professional development and for thirty years Dennis and Adrian Mortram have assisted BIGGA in pushing the boundaries in Greenkeeper development. This has been through Dennis’s involvement with the Master Greenkeeper certificate and regular joint workshop and seminar presentations on the topic of irrigation. Through AMA (formerly RHA), collectively as father and son, they have presented annual workshops on our Continue to Learn education programme at BTME for over fifteen years, on irrigation design and auditing, and we are proud to have them as part of our team.
British & International Golf Greenkeeping Association (BIGGA) – Sami Strutt, Head of Member Development
AMA (formerly RHA) have been associated with Cheltenham Racecourse for thirty years and more recently the Jockey Club as a whole. They have always provided clear, honest and impartial advice on irrigation and our availability, storage and use of water for irrigation to enable us to maintain our racing surfaces in a safe and consistent manner throughout our racing calendar. We would not hesitate to recommend AMA to anyone
The Jockey Club – Simon Claisse, Regional Head of Racing, South West & Clerk of the Course, Cheltenham
The consultancy work STRI undertake with AMA (formerly RHA) has spanned over twenty years and throughout that period the relationship has flourished. As an associate specialist consultant AMA’s skills dovetail seamlessly with those of the STRI team enabling turnkey solutions to be provided to prospective clients. Through Robin, Adrian and more recently Timmy, collectively as a team we have undertaken many projects, both large and small. We are proud to work closely with AMA and we know this is very much reciprocated with STRI. We look forward to our continued relationship into the future.
Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI) – Richard Gibbs, Head of Sports Surface Design
We have been involved with Adrian Mortram Associates Ltd (formerly Robin Hume Associates Ltd) and in particular Adrian Mortram since 2012 with the first phase of our irrigation system upgrade to abstract and store water being completed in 2014. The continued support and professionalism provided has been invaluable in assisting the golf club moving forward with the approval from members to proceed with renewing our aging irrigation system.
Indeed without Adrian's attendance and down to earth explanation at our Annual General Meeting in March 2017 and his honesty and professionalism in answering some difficult questions on why we need an irrigation system and the issues with the existing system we believe as a Club that the motions would not have been passed.
Cruden Bay Golf Club – Les Durno, Secretary
